Responsible Gambling

1. Is Gambling a Problem For You?

If you feel that you are spending too much time, spending more than you can afford, or even that gambling has affected your mood, e.g. making you depressed, then you may have a gambling problem and the following tips are provided to help you deal with this issue.

2. Reduce Your Gambling

You may wish to take any of the following measures to reduce or limit your gambling activity.

i.   Set money and time limits for your gambling and stick to them.

ii.   Self-exclude yourself from gambling for a minimum of six months – you can click on a self-exclusion button on our website to self-exclude yourself from gambling on our platforms for a minimum of six months. During this period of time, you will not be able to subscribe to any of our tournaments and will thus have at least six months free from gambling on our tournaments.

iii.   Take regular breaks.

iv.   Balance gambling with other activities.

v.   Do not chase your losses – if you fail to win a tournament, then we encourage you not to take it personally and feel a compulsion to extend your subscription to the next month  as a way of ‘getting even’.

vi.   Do not think of gambling as a way to make money – while we wish all our customers every success to win on a given tournament, it should not be seen as a way to generate income. Gambling, by definition, is an activity of chance and there is no certainty that you will win, or what level of monies you will obtain.

vii.   Do not gamble to ‘escape’ – if you have other issues going on in your life, such as boredom, loneliness or stress, we would encourage you not to participate in our tournaments as a way of escaping from those issues. We would encourage you to get counselling and other support in relation to those issues.

viii.   Only gamble with the money you can afford to lose – while the subscription fee is ‘low’, relative to other forms of gambling, we recognise that every individual has a different budget and what is affordable to them. You should consider carefully whether you can afford to subscribe to the tournaments that you are subscribing to.

ix.   Get professional help – if you find that gambling has become out of control or is having a negative impact on yourself or others around you, then we would encourage you to seek professional help, such as from Gamble Aware. There are other gambling support charities available and we would encourage you to consult any of them.

x.   Talk to us – If you wish to discuss any issues you may have with gambling, please feel free to contact us either via customer support form on our website or emailing us directly at: support@efantasyleague.com
