Day two of the Elite League delivered an electrifying showdown as the battle among the top carries intensified, with all five fantasy spots dominated by position 1 players.
In a clash between titans, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon and Ilya “Kiritych” Ulyanov went head-to-head for the title of the day's top performer as Aurora squared off against Virtus Pro. It was an epic display of skill, with Kiritych unleashing his signature Monkey King in the first map, racking up an impressive 19 kills and 7 deaths. Not to be outdone, 23savage struck back in game two with his Morphling, tallying 15 kills and just 4 deaths.
The day also witnessed a masterclass performance from Enzo "Timado" O'Connor in the OG versus Nouns matchup. After sealing the deal with Anti-Mage in game 1, Timado showcased his prowess on Morphling, delivering a staggering 17 kills and only conceding 1 death, outshining all three cores of Nouns combined.
Meanwhile, Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko, the former BetBoom offlaner turned carry for Tundra, continued to make waves on Morphling, decimating 9 Pandas with 19 kills and just 1 death in the second game. Despite arguments about 9 Pandas being a newly formed team needing time to gel, Pure's performance since his role switch speaks volumes.
And of course, we can't overlook the legend himself, Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi. Despite Nigma falling short against Talon Esports, Miracle once again showcased why he's considered one of the greatest carries in Dota history.
With such razor-thin margins in total fantasy points among core players on day two, it's clear that teams are evenly matched in terms of preparation, readiness, and skill. Predicting which teams will secure a 3-0 bracket and advance to the group stages, and which ones will fall just short, is a daunting task. Day three promises more thrilling matchups, including Nigma versus Tundra, OG versus Entity, and the unexpected showdown between Talon and BOOM, both teams having successfully entered the 2-0 bracket. |
